I'v had these tires sence 2009, and I'v never had a flat, and I ride every day with a total of 4100miles to date (knock on wood).and the tred still grabs hold well, just don't put the PSI over 50 or the edge will slip over the rime and the tube will explode in you face like it happend to me. I'v gone over glass, nails, rusty metal part's of some kind, hitt pot holes twice, and I'v eaven flated out my rimes once and broke many spokes on a 2 wheel landing (that... I was'ent sopoesed to do any way) and the tubes(standerd tubes with good qwalaty rime tape) wher unrealestcly unharmed. and yes, it was a gift...kinda, I got a "gift card" of some sort then used it to buy a set of the tires. these tire's are probaly over engeneered. if you commute/ride hard almost every day over glass/sharp object's, then get a set, it's well well worth it, I sware by these tires evrey time I ride. thay'll may last longer than I do.

This is a very fast and quiet tire suited best for 80% street and 20% hardpack trails. Also, riding in loose sand deeper than 2" will stop these tires cold. Also forget about wet riding- as these tires lose all stability and traction when wet. Mud or thick, wet roots is not good to this tire, as anything moist will make this tire as slick as an ice cube....seriously. You will absolutely fall down if this tire gets wet on pavement, while traveling over 12mph. Always keep this tire DRY and you will go places quick, with excellent thorn and glass protection.

I ride a mountain bike in town, usually 10 to 20+ miles at a time. So I don't need a lot of traction. I really like the 80 lbs of air pressure that the tire holds and the tread pattern as it rolls nicely. It is a durable tire with no flat problems. For my style of riding this is an excellent tire.
