Overall, this is a great bike. It's comfy, lightweight, and the price is pretty hard to beat. Right now I use it for fitness, but plan to start commuting this summer. My only complaint is that both inner tubes tore at valve stem during normal inflation. I've never had this happen before, and I had to replace both tubes. Perhaps they're just part of a defective batch?
It's a great bike in so many ways. The gears are clacking a little at the high end but it probably just needs some adjustment. But overall it is good looking, handles great, with a solid and smooth feel. I am looking forward to becoming a better rider and really being able to enjoy this great bike!
I upgraded from an old beaten bike to this slick speedy beast. Completely like its performance abilities. Gone on a couple long rides and its very smooth, very stiff and excellent maneuvering at high speeds. Great for beginner to intermediate bikers.
I spent weeks trying to find a road bike that had a relatively cheap price, great performance, and looked great, and i settled upon this bike. I went over to a local bike shop and tried it out, and it was amazing! It felt like i was sailing over the pavement! I would buy this bike for anyone I love. I tried trek and cannondale bikes at my lbs but NOTHING compared to this! the shifting is silky smooth, and there is nothing i don't love about this bike.
This bike was my first Road bike ever. Not knowing what was "good" and "not good" when I made my purchase, I'm glad that I chose it. Now that I've put about a 1000 miles on it, I can confidently say for the money, this was a fantastic investment. Only recommendation I can give is to replace the brake pads, they aren't very good, and you'll be happier for it. I've been in two collisions with reckless Boston drivers (1 minor, 1 medium severity), and the bike is still in good riding condition (with a few easy adjustments/repairs). You wouldn't think this was the case since you can pick it up with two fingers, but it's very sturdy. If this is also your first bike, consider getting a pair of bike shorts (with ample padding), and clipless pedals/shoes before you decide if riding is for you. As soon as I got the shorts, any rear discomfort was minimal (if the seat was adjusted correctly), and as soon as I got bike shoes, my performance increased dramatically, able to climb hills especially, much easier.
I have been riding mountain bikes for many years. I mainly bought this to get into road racing (sort of my wish list). I search google and have reviewed comments for this bike as well as CAAD 8. Upon testing of the bike, I have chosen this bike over CAAD8. The build quality was excellent and I loved fit (Angle) on 54CM frame on me. (More of personal choice). Bike is light and pedaling is effortless. I can now hang out with road racing guys ; ). I have had only couple hundreds of miles on the road. Seat was comfortable, my Shimano pedal was great (You do know that you have to buy a pedal unless you want to use ugly plastic non-funtional pedal that they throw in with your bike purchase). Feels very light to me at least because I am coming from mountain bike background. No regrets but I am very happy with the purchase. (For CAAD8, I felt ride was not as rigid and angle was some what less comfortable to me. Hence, I went with Specialized Allez sport.). I definitely recommend this bike to those who are searching for first road bike.
Excellent bike, I just bought the last three days and I am happy with her, is very stable, easy to operate, very smooth you feel when pedaling, the seat is very comfortable and above all the stability it has on the road. I had bikes from other brands and older model, now that I returned to cycling this is the ideal bike for it, I recommend it.
I'm new to cycling and I knew I wanted this bike as soon as I saw it. I'd ridden a bike by another manufacturer but as soon as I tried the Allez Sport there was no comparison. It's lightweight, responsive and comfortable to ride. I use it to cycle to work and it's perfect for that. It also looks good and I've had loads omf comments about it from other people. I had to wait 6 weeks for this bike, which was hard, but it was well worth it. I'd recommend Specialized all day long!
I purchased this bike as an entry level bike. It rides great and fit and finish is of high quality. I am very happy with this bike.
I decided that I wanted to start riding road bikes, but like most just getting into the sport I didn't want to spend a lot of money until I was sure I loved it. However, I also wanted a quality bike. So I spent a solid eight weeks surfing the net, test riding both new and used bikes and you know what I found out? Used bikes hold their value very well, so for a few extra dollars I could get a new bike. I checked out every entry to mid-level road bike available and the Allez Sport Compact can't be beat. I have now put about 300 miles on it and I am amazed at how effortless those miles were. I ride where there is nothing but hills and this bike attacks them. I have no problem keeping up with the "big boys". And I get a lot of comments on how sweet the bike looks too (I got the blue one). This bike is a keeper.
